Native Hawaiian Children and Families
The information contained in this section is primarily based on a study conducted by the Center on the Family for Ho'owaiwai Na Kamali'i. This Native Hawaiian Early Childhood Education and Care Consortium is a partnership of over 25 private and public organizations dedicated to the betterment of early education and care for Native Hawaiian families and children, prenatal to age five. The Ho'owaiwai Na Kamali'i report consists of a literature review on Native Hawaiian young children, indicator data on this population, and consumer and provider survey data on programs and services. Much of the data is presented by the six O'ahu Moku (community divisions) and four neighbor islands, and the State as a whole. This section also contains additional data and research conducted by the Center on the Family, as well as research and information provided by other organizations throughout our State on the Native Hawaiian population. |
