Grace Fong was appointed as the Interim Director of the Center on the Family in August 2010. Prior to this appointment, she taught for over 30 years in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences’ Family Resources program and coordinated its undergraduate internship program. Her research and outreach interests include family management practices in limited-resource families and families with young children, and early childhood care and education. She is the recipient of the University of Hawai‘i 1998 Regents’ Medal for Excellence in Teaching and the 1998 NACTA Award for Excellence in University Teaching.
