This dashboard provides data on Hawaiʻi’s young keiki and access to community resources that support their early learning and healthy development. A wide variety of indicators include demographic characteristics of our early childhood population, high-priority groups, and the extent to which our early learning programs and other community services are able to reach those in need.

Access to Early Childhood Education and Care in Hawaiʻi (2025 update)

This site displays localized data to inform the planning and strategic expansion of early care and education programs (ECE) for our youngest keiki. Customizable maps include data on the location, supply, affordability and quality of ECE seats across the state. Users can see how ECE access varies by age group, commuting distance/time, geographic location, and community characteristics.

Early Childhood Food Program Access

This dashboard displays data on access to USDA food programs that provide free or reduced price meals to eligible children in child care (CACFP) and public pre-K (NSLP) classrooms. Users can customize the map to show the location and food program participation status of early care and education providers, as well as community characteristics associated with food program eligibility.
